Brisbane Trauma Informed Practitioners

Marian Cartwright

I am passionate about fostering strong therapeutic relationships that empower clients to achieve growth, healing, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, professional, and tailored to each individual’s needs, whether supporting short-term goals or navigating longer-term challenges. I support individuals addressing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, stress, grief, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

With over 14 years of experience in mental health, I have worked across diverse settings, including non-profit organisations and private residential services, in leadership, case management, and counselling roles. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Youth Work (2014), and a Master’s in Social Work (2021), and am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

I bring additional expertise as an EAGALA-certified Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist and Arenas for Change (ARCH) facilitator. I also incorporate Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) into my work, often alongside my therapy dog, Sunshine, who provides clients with comfort and connection during sessions.

Currently, I serve as the Allied Health Manager at iMH Nundah Private Hospital while maintaining a private practice at Transitions-Horses Leading Change. I work with individuals providing one-on-one sessions and group therapy to support clients at every stage of life.
