Brisbane Trauma Informed Practitioners

Simona Cudlman

I’m Simona, a mental health social worker and EMDR-accredited practitioner. My primary area of interest lies in helping individuals with PTSD and complex PTSD. I am deeply committed to supporting people as they navigate the impact of trauma, rebuild their sense of safety, and reconnect with themselves and their lives.

Much of my work focuses on veterans and first responders, helping them process the unique challenges they face due to their service. Through my role at Toowong Private Hospital, I’ve had the privilege of working with military personnel and veterans in both individual and group settings, focusing on military-related PTSD.

In addition to trauma work, I also provide therapy for other issues such as:

  • Addictions
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Life transitions
  • Adjustment difficulties

As a migrant myself, I understand the complexities of adjusting to a new culture, environment, and way of life, and I’m passionate about helping others navigate these transitions. Whether working through trauma, dealing with emotional challenges, or seeking clarity and direction, I’m here to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for healing and growth.

About Inner Compass Therapy
I founded Inner Compass Therapy to offer a safe and welcoming space where individuals can rediscover their strengths and heal at their own pace. My practice is based in two locations, Lota and Greenslopes, and I also offer online therapy for flexibility and accessibility.

At Inner Compass Therapy, I specialize in trauma-informed care, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs. My therapeutic modalities include:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Strategies
  • Motivational Interviewing

I truly believe that healing begins with the individual, and as one person heals, the ripple effects can positively impact families, communities, and beyond.
